Manufacturing technologies

Which process is used follows from the part itself: from geometry, required volume, surface requirements and mechanical load. We command the relevant processes on site and select them to suit the part – not the other way round.

This is a decisive difference from suppliers specialised in a single process. Where only one technology is available, the part is adapted to the process. Where several are on hand, the commercially and technically soundest option can be chosen. For small volumes with high demands on fibre volume content and surface quality this is usually autoclave technology; for larger series, press processes hold a clear advantage through shorter cycle times.

The forming processes are complemented by downstream steps. Composite parts do not leave the mould at final contour – trimming, drilling and cut-outs are carried out mechanically. Depending on requirements, surface finishing and full metrological inspection follow.
